Blogmas Day 19 - Kylie Cosmetics Holiday Collection

I thought I'd show you guys the only item that I managed to grab from Kylie's Holiday collection. Originally I had my heart set on the 4 Piece Holiday Set as it had some lovely new shades included by that sold out in about 0.2 seconds. Instead I got the Dancer Metal Lipstick and I am still just as delighted by the product!

The Metal Lipstick is a gorgeous deep red with a lovely glitter than you can wear alone or build up. I wear this by lining my lips with a Maybelline deep red liner and covering the lips with a base layer of the same. I then apply one layer and have super festive lips to go! Now this isn't long lasting at all (which is obvious as it isn't matte) but it defiantly doesn't go patchy either!

Blogmas Day 18 - My Current Make-Up Collection Part 2

Welcome to part two of my make-up collection! We're starting with my biggest draw which is Lipsticks and Lip Products (other than Liners - I keep them separate in a glass). I received the whole Mayebelline Vivid Matte Liquid Lipsticks whilst at London Fashion Week with Maybelline and I have loved using them ever since. They're great as a drugstore liquid lipstick and the formula is not drying at all! NYX Liquid Suede was worn by Zoella so therefore I had to own it? But it is a super lovely nude! (Like that justifies the 20 exact same shades I have). As you can see I do own three Kylie Lipsticks (all the nudes I know) and am soon to receive the Dancer Metal o add to this collection (not nude!!). Then of course there's MAC (all nude AGAIN) a YSL (I think you can guess the colour now...) a few drugstore and Charlotte Tilbury's Glaston-Berry! The ColourPop Lipsticks all came in the Autumn Bundles apart from one which I did buy out in America but I think I have a great range of shades!

My 'eye' draw is probably the most expensive as it has ended up becoming two draws (but surely that due to palette size too?). I have loads of black eyeliners as they are always drying out or just not working as well as I'd hoped so when I do find a good one I stock up! (Current fave is Kat Von D) Then the two Shadow sticks I own (New Look and LOC) and my brow sets, Brow the Way, and Glitters. I also have my largest palettes from Violet Voss both the Laura Lee and Holy Grail sets. These are probably my most frequently used palettes due to the range of colours in them! And lastly my recent purchase of the Ciate X Chloe Morello Palette which is simply beautiful!

The final draw does look a little sparse but once again it homes some palettes. The Zoeva Cocoa Blend Palette, the Morphe Little Palette and the ShaanXO palette. I used to use this as my draw for make-up I simply didn't use as much but I needed more room for palettes so I now have to just throw out stuff I do not use!

Let me know how you store your make-up and if you share any of the same pieces as I do!

Blogmas Day 17 - My Current Make-Up Collection Part 1

Seeing as my Make-up Collection is constantly changing I though I'd best give you guys an up to date version of what I currently have. This is besides my every-day make-up that I keep separate. Firstly I though I'd mention the brushes I always use are from Spectrum Collections! Yes they are slightly more expensive compared ti drugstore brushes but they are also a greater quality. I bought my first set almost 2 years ago and once washed you wouldn't know they had even been used.

Just as pretty much every other blogger out there I use acrylic storage to store my make-up. I find it easy to keep clean and easy to find the item you're looking for without having to open every draw. I also try to keep it in a sort of order so that I will know where everything is!

On top is a lift system which is a deeper compartment than the draw therefore in here I keep the pieces that simply do not fit where they should. My Z-Palette is too deep to fit in the normal draws and I just don't have enough room for the ABH palette to go in the correct draw! Maybe a sign that I do no need anymore make-up palettes. Also Make-up sponges even when wet aren't exactly small so my most recent purchase of a 'Unicorn Tear' from Spectrum Collections lives on top.

Face Draw: In here it's pretty simply everything I use on my base. I have normal powders (Stay Matte by Rimmel is my current) Contour powder (this Maybelline Master Sculpt is fab for a drugstore contour!) and highlights (yes I do have the hyped Sleek palette but normally I use the Balm). There's a random floating sample from the Balm in this draw which I'm considering moving as it's so tiny I don't think I can use it as a blush and my normal make-up sponges from Real Techniques. As you can see there's a primer and concealer as well as a mascara sample as well as my favourite foundation from Bourjois. I am however in the middle of a love hate situation with this foundation as I have been using it for so long that I want to try something now but I just don't think any other foundation can live up to my expectations.

If you guys have any suggestion on which foundation I should try then I'd love to hear from you as I am willing to try any brand!

Part 2 shall follow...

Blogmas Day 16 - YouTube Made Me Buy It!

We've all been there before, just watching our favourite YouTuber and then they mention a products they have been loving and you simply need it. It's not a matter of whether you have a similar palette or if you can get a drugstore dupe cheaper you just have to have that item then and there. I am very guilty of this and I'm not going to hide it. I love make-up and I love YouTube so it's a recipe for disaster. I am subscribed to several beauty 'gurus' on YouTube which makes it even worse. Chloe Morello, Nikki Tutorials, Manny MUA, Inthefrow (Victoria), Tanya Burr, Hannah Renee, Gabriella Lindley and Zoe Sugg just to name a few pop up in my subscriptions daily. Therefore my bank account hates me daily and the postman now knows me buy name but this tag has made me consider if the items are actually worth it? (Shock I know)

Zoe Sugg (aka Zoella) - I bought these two lipsticks after Zoe stating either on YouTube in a time lapse of her doing her makeup or on her blog saying that they were her current faves. I do adore the NYX Liquid Suede however I'm not really sure why I actually bothered to invest in the Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick. I don't do dark lips and only do if its halloween so seeing as this is a luxury item I don't know how I justified the purchase. It's a great formula don't get me wrong, just it isn't for me and so I feel it is wasted on me!

Nikkie Tutorials - Deemed a self-taught beauty guru Nikkie has taught me how to contour like a pro and completely change a face with the application of a steady winged liner. Apart from that she also knows her stuff make-up wise. The YouTube community went mad when she started using the Nivea Men Post Shave Balm as a primer because it literally is the same thing with the same ingredients. I think every company slightly hates her for pointing out it is the fraction of the price and contains the same ingredient that make make-up stick to your skin - glycerin. This is now a holy grail product for me and I honestly can not justify spending the money on expensive primers when this does the same, if not a better, job at keeping my make-up on all day and night!

MirellaBelle Make-up - Ever since I started watching Mirella she has used the Bahama Mama powder as a contour shade so of course I went ahead and bought it however there are drugstore alternatives that are just as good. The Balm are my all time faves for highlight however Maybelline make a Master Contour that I find a better contour powder for my skin tone as it isn't as orange toned as this powder. If you're a similar skin tone to Mirella however this may be a good neutral powder for you to try!

Gabriella Lindley - During summer Gabby tried out these liners and they looked so fab with her eyes that I wanted them. They're quiet pricey for liners but I thought I would use them a lot over the summer. No prices for guessing that these are still sealed and have never been opened. I just don't think they're practical for everyday use. I can't even comment on the formula or quality as I've never used them and that's a good enough review I feel!

Chloe Morello - I feel like every YouTuber now has a collab or brand which they create products for their viewers to buy. I know that i buy all of Zoella's bits because they genuinely are amazing and when I saw the Chloe X Ciate set in my local TKMaxx at a fraction of the price my head though 'why not eh?' Although this palette is fab; and you get a mascara, lipstick and bag in the box, I do have so many other palette's that have the exact same shades. Honestly looking at these shades I think every palette uses them, there's transitions then some shimmer shadows and then some dark ones. I will end up using this purely because they are colours that I use everyday however I could find these shades in any other palette I own.

Hannah Renee - This utter babe knows her stuff when it comes to make-up but it's a shame it is always high end make-up. Okay with this item I am just simply passing the buck as it were because I was going to get this one way or another anyway but now I have someone to blame it on it's better! This set is amazing and when I saw Hannah do a tutorial using all three palettes it made me think that maybe the price tag was worth it because you can use different parts of each palette.

These Four are just general items that every YouTuber and their Nan raved about and made me want.  As you can see a lot of them are the same shades or colour range and therefore it has made me question whether I really need that next raved about palette. I'm pretty certain that everyone who watches YouTube feels the same about the need to buy products so I don't think it will ever not make me want products but maybe we should all start to think about the stuff in our current collection before making an impulse buy!

Blogmas Day 15 - Too Faced Christmas

How freakin' cute is this packaging?! But then it is Too Faced so what more do we expect?

I must say their Christmas range this year has fully won my heart and I am lusting for everything they have come out with (and a win on the lottery to pay for it)! This is definitely a Lust item for Christmas and when I pop'ed into Selfridges I simply had to treat myself. I was feeling lousy on that day and seeing their range perked me up, also I know I wont be getting this as gift due to it's price tag!

The set includes a Mini Better Than Sex Mascara and 3 Limited Edition Christmas Palettes. Each palette contains 6 shadows (some limited edition) and either a large pan of blusher or bronzer. Plus they are all scented with the name they are given which just makes them even more special! I first saw these months ago as I am subscribed to their channel on YouTube and they often preview special releases month before they come out. They then popped up again in Hannah Renee's video when she did an amazing cut crease look which was to die for!

This little box is now sitting next to my makeup storage as I just don't want to pack it away. I think it's a great gift for a make-up lover, if you're looking for something on the price-y end and it also comes with a little book of eye shadow looks. I can not wait to have a play with every palette in this set and I will definitely be showing a few of the looks I make with you guys!

Blogmas Day 14 - ShaaanXO

I bought this palette that month when Beauty Bay sent an email out stating that they were now stocking BHCosmetics. This ShaaanXO palette has been on my wishlist for ages now but I had accepted that until I next went to USA it wasn't going to be mine! The palette features 9 Lipstick Shades and 9 Eye-shadows (you may recognise the colours from controversy surrounding the original Kyshadow palette). This palette makes a really great present as it's not only cheap, RRP £16, but also great quality. The shadows are highly pigmented and such a great range of neutral mattes/shimmers.

Although I do not see myself using this side of the palette I do still think it's a great idea! You get 9 lipstick shades (From top left to right) a terracotta, a peach, a true red, a dark brow, a violet, a barbie pink, a brown nude, a deep red and a deep brown. It's a great range whether you're just starting out or love makeup like me! The formulas leave a creme-sheen effect on the lips which is long lasting but will need to be re-applied. The only down side is that this kit does not come with a lip brush so you'll have to grab your own one (I love the Spectrum Collections A15 Brush)

When Kylie Jenner released her first palette, Kyshadow Bronze, this was thrown all over the internet ad the palette she had taken 'inspiration' from. However there is a very large difference in the price tag! The shades are great for me personally as I love neutral palettes and find I get so much more use out of them. There's also a range of shimmers and mattes too. There's a: base shade (matte), light shimmer, brown shimmer, yellow (matte), dark brown shimmer, burgundy (matte), lilac shimmer, green based shimmer and a black (matte).

Blogmas Day 13 - Christmas Wrapping

This is going to be a slightly different post to my normal ones as I wanted to show you guys a little bit about me and my absolute love for present wrapping. I can't be the only one who simply loves making a present look amazing and wrapping them up perfectly? This year our colour scheme, don't ask my family always has a colour scheme, is red and gold. Last year we had pinks and coppers and Mum decided it was time to go traditional again. I must say at first I was a little dis-heartened we weren't going for my multi-colour idea but now I've found some cute wrapping pieces I am loving it!

The wrapping I got this year is from PaperChase as I find they do a great range of colours and designs so they will pretty much always do the colour scheme for our decorations. There paper is also great quality and doesn't rip when you're trying to wrap something awkward! I also tend to use brown paper a lot, especially when using decoration ribbons such as the Reindeer one picture (from Hobbycraft). I've also use brown paper as a base and then stamped Christmas pictures on top of before which makes a creative, original piece of wrapping paper.

I'm also lightly funny when wrapping 'soft' items. Whenever I buy slippers or PJ's I tend to wrap them in Tissue Paper first (red snowflake design from Card Factory) and then in paper before placing a ribbon around. I find this creates a barrier from the items being ripped and also makes it look a lot nice when being un-wrapped. However this does mean more mess on Christmas Day!

I tend to steer away from black pens when writing the tags so Gold and Silver metallic pens are a great way to keep them looking festive! The little stamps I recently picked up from my local Lidl and I must say I am over the moon with them! They are such great quality and give a personal effect to the tags. The set contained multiple little stamps as well as two large designs and different ink pads in a range of colours!

Keep an eye out on my snap chat for when we decorate the tree as I'm sure this colour scheme madness will then make more sense! I'll also show you how these look underneath and the little touches we add!
